The True Meaning of the Feast of Unleavened Bread

Have you heard of the Feast of Unleavened Bread?

If we look in the book of Exodus, after keeping the Passover, the Israelites were freed from slavery of Babylon and started their journey toward the promised land, Canaan. However, God changed the heart of Pharaoh and made him chase after the Israelites with his army. While Pharaoh was chasing them from the back, in front of the Israelites was the Red Sea. In a helpless situation, the Israelites started to complain against Moses for bringing them out of Egypt to make them die in Pharaoh's hands. So, Moses prayed to God and God allowed Moses to divide the Red Sea into two parts, through which the Israelites were able to safely cross the sea and by which all the horsemen of Pharaoh were drowned into. Although the Israelites were able to safely cross the Red Sea and arrive at the other part of the sea to continue their journey to Canaan, the urgent situation of Pharaoh's chariots chasing after them and worries about being able to safely cross the Red Sea caused the Israelites great pain.

This history in time of Moses was a prophecy, which was fulfilled by Jesus Christ, who suffered pain being hanged on the cross, after keeping the Passover with His disciples. In order to commemorate and remember the sacrifice and pain Jesus had to endure on the cross, God commanded us to keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread, by fasting.

The True Meaning of the Feast of Unleavened Bread

Many Christians talk about sacrifice and love of Christ. They say that they love Christ as He loved us to His death. However, if we really love God, who sacrificed for our sins, we should remember and keep the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, according to the Bible.

  • John 10:27 "My sheep listen to my voice..."
  • John 14:15 "If you love me, keep my commands."
Before confessing our love for God with our lips, shouldn't we look into what God, himself, wanted from His people? Jesus repeated, saying "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer", while keeping the Passover. Moreover, through past history, God has already showed us the way, through which we can commemorate God's sacrifice and love for us. And this was the true meaning of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. That was why Apostle Paul preached the truth of the New Covenant, set by Jesus Christ, even though he had to go through many circumstances. Rather, he was proud to be able to bear the marks of Jesus on his body.

  • Galatians 6:17 "From now on, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus."
Many people do not know about the biblical Passover. Neither do they know about the meaning of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. So, when we share with people about these truths from the Bible, most people may not care and some may even mock us. However, as true lovers of Christ, cherishing His sacrifice for us, we should not stop shouting this truth to the whole world and continue to keep the feasts of God as written in the Bible. That is how we can bear the marks of Christ with us, being true followers of God.

〖NEW SONG〗Heavenly Father’s Boundless Sacrifice

Rev. 14  Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.  (...)   And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. I think that New Song has great power to make me feel healed. Whenever I listen or sing a new song I am very proud of it since there is the prophecy of the Bible concerning it. There is only one place where there is the New Song. Only Zion where there are God and His people who knew His name and will be saved!! We live in the age of Holy Spirit. He has His new name.(Mt. 28:18) Jesus' New name!!(Rev. 2:17, Rev. 3:12) You can find Him only in the World Mission Society Church of God[WMSCOG] according to the prophecies of the Bible.
